Hyper4Rail presented at “Hyperloop – Sustainable Transport Technology for the Future” event in Brussels
On 14 May 2025, over 150 industry leaders, policymakers, and researchers gathered in Brussels for "Hyperloop – Sustainable Transport Technology for the Future", a high-profile event co-hosted by the Hyperloop Development Program (HDP), TUM Hyperloop, and Neoways, alongside the Representation of the Free State of Bavaria to the EU. The conference highlighted hyperloop’s transformative potential as a high-speed, low-emission transport system, blending the efficiency of rail with the speed of air travel.
The evening included keynotes from EU policymakers. Markus Ferber, MEP, stressed the need for innovation in European transport policy, while Anna Panagopoulou (Head of Cabinet for EU Transport Commissioner Apostolos Tzitzikostas) outlined the European Commission’s vision for sustainable mobility, emphasizing hyperloop’s role in future infrastructure.
Developers from Hardt Hyperloop, Institute of Hyperloop Technology, and Zeleros, alongside operator Deutsche Rail Operations (DRO), provided updates on global hyperloop advancements.
Hyper4Rail was presented by Project Coordinator Sascha Lamme, who highlighted the initiative to actively coordinate the harmonization of the new technology between hyperloop developers, the rail industry and the public sector.
"Hyper4Rail is not just an exercise on paper," Lamme explained. "We’re repeatedly checking technical and economic feasibility against real stakeholder feedback—ensuring this technology aligns with Europe’s transport needs, including the TEN-T network. This will be followed within the project by technical validation in demonstration and testing facilities all over Europe."
