Hyper4Rail presented at “Portugal Railway Summit 2025” event in Entroncamento, Portugal

On 21st and 22nd May 2025, over 800 industry leaders, policymakers, and representatives of Portuguese public bodies, gathered in Entroncamento, Portugal for the “Portugal Railway Summit 2025”, the biggest national event for the railway sector, already on it’s 6th edition. This event, organized by PFP – Plataforma Ferroviária Portuguesa, focused on the national investments in high-speed, security and cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, sustainability and disruptive railways, and involved round tables, presentations and an exhibition floor for networking and stands.

The event included the participation of Miguel Pinto Luz, Portuguese Minister of Infrastructures and Housing, Nicolas Furio, Head of Innovation Pillar at Europe's Rail Joint Undertaking, and several presidents and high-level representatives of key players of the Portuguese railway sector.

Hyper4Rail was presented by Project Coordinator Sascha Lamme, who explained the hyperloop technology and highlighted the goals of the project, focusing on its benefits for the railway industry and the public sector.

"What makes Hyper4Rail truly transformational”, Lamme mentioned, “is its Europe-wide coordinated approach, combining the rail sector's decades of operational experience with hyperloop's groundbreaking technology and leading research institutes' expertise. The project's focus on identifying the position of hyperloop in the EU transport mix, business case, and alignment with the European Commission's sustainable transport goals is essential. We're excited to see growing industry interest and warmly invite rail operators to join this effort."
